Do you think naming a shoe store after a foot disease is good marketing?

The shoe store The Athlete's Foot seems to be doing just fine. You can take it either way - shoes for the athlete to wear or the disease athletes feet.

is it u planning? u naughty:)
Reply:Duh, no.......
Reply:you mean like Fungus Shoe Store .. nope, they will be out of business as of today
Reply:I doubt it - would you name a restaurant "Salmonella"?
Reply:It would be a bad idea becausing who would want to buy shoes at a place that is name after a disease I am its like having a birth control pill that is name AIDS
Reply:it depends on the name. it could be either really really clever or just plain unappealing.
Reply:It's a very effective idea. The fact that it's a double entendre helps keep it from seeming too stupid, and the recognisability of the name (in the context of the disease) makes it easy to remember.

And it's hard to argue with success - it's a fairly large chain in the USA.
Reply:that's sounds REALLY stupid
Reply:Why not. I'm going to open a back care products store named Scoli-oasis.
