I'm getting an American Eskimo super soon. I have posted a few questions about this subject. What kind of names should I consider?
What kind of names should I consider when naming an American Eskimo?
Find a unique name in another language! I have 3 dogs, Their names are Austin, Quigley, and Heidi. Quigley is a samoyed, which is just like an american eskimo. Don't name yours Snow, or Snoflake, name it by her or his personality. I suggest:
Bo
Minnie
Avalanche
Trek
Jet
Zipper
Melanie
Reply:Don't be so discriminatory. Name it according to what you feel towards the animal, not according to where it came from. I didn't name my black lab Shaniqua, I named it Pixi, because it would flutter about all the time.
Reply:Juan {pronounced Waun} It's a cool name but also an eskimo type name
Reply:Let's see male or female?
Let's go male -
Jack Frost
Jack Skelington
Reply:snowball, snowflake, frenchy
Reply:Chinook, Nanook, and Amaroq are some American Eskimo names that might be great for a big fluffy dog. Chinook means "warm wind". Nanook means "polar bear." Amaroq means "wolf." The name Amaroq was used in the award- winning kid's book Julie of the Wolves. Good Luck!
Reply:spitz
Reply:Isn't slavery illegal, I can't believe people are still allowed to own other human beings. You should go with whatever his birth name is in his village!
Reply:Frosty was my friend's american eskimo dog's name, I would also suggest names Like, Fluffy, Anything that begins with snow, or anything that is white or wintery.
Reply:There's a lot of name websites online. Try that or try with your family to think of something. It doesn't necessarily have to go along with his breed.
Ideas?? - Fritz, Frisco, Cosmo, Julian, Dakota (Dak or kota for short), Simba.
Good luck
Reply:when i was a kid we had a Smoyed which looks like a bigger version of your dog and her name was Sasha. It suited her. If it is a male i would reccomend Dakota and you can call him kota for short its very mountainy suiting the breed. Hope this helps.
Reply:Wait til you get him a good name will come to you.. You don't need to name a dog according to their breed, or breed characteristics. Name the dog something both you and he likes.. Something that you don't mind yelling if he refuses to come when you call him : )
Reply:Whitey
:D
Reply:We're talking dogs, not people, right?
