I need help naming a rebellion group after a mythological hero?

Greek, Roman, Celtic, etc....

I don't want it to be something that's obvious or overused, such as Hercules or Achilles.

But I want it to be something that's easy to pronounce for someone that's never seen or heard the name before.

Any suggestions?

Prometheus.

Sentenced to an eternity of hardship by the vengeful Zeus for stealing fire from the gods and giving it to man. It's basically the serpent in the Garden of Eden story, but in this version the serpent (Prometheus) is a hero to the people for giving them knowledge and he is effectively martyred by Zeus's actions.
Reply:I would tend to support the Prometheus name as well. Prometheus recognized an injustice by those who were in power (the Gods, under Zeus) and did something about it. However, like Prometheus, your little rebellion may end up by being squashed by the "powers that be", even though you may truly be a hero(s).

Reply:Valkyries

In old Norse valkyrie means "chooser of the slain".

In Norse myth those warriors who die bravely in battle are taken by these female mythical beings to Valhalla - to feast there in the hall with Odin in the afterlife.

To Steven,

I don't think you understand the meaning of a 'Phyrric Victory'. It means a struggle which is ruinous for the victor. Phyrrus won a victory but destroyed his own side in the process, so ultimately he lost.
Reply:Boudiccans named after the Celtic warrior queen of the Iceni, Boudicca. http://www.unc.edu/celtic/catalogue/boud...
Reply:Pyrrhus, an great Roman military commander that had overcame uneven odds to achieve a remarkable victory.
