So why is naming a child's teddy bear, surely its most cherished toy, after Mohammed, a matter of imprisonment, floging and crowds waving machettes and sreaming death?
Is it still politically incorrect to refer to such countries as barbaric?
Why do we not boycott and impose sanctions on such countries?
This event is now passed and we have patched it up, but all the issues remain alive, and will happen again. I remain worried.
A parent naming his child after some one, is an indication of love and a great compliment for that person?
When are people going to realise, Islam is a religion of the dark ages and is 400 years behind Christianity.
Give them time, they'll catch up with Civilisation eventually.
Reply:Ignorance.....
I've marched against war but never to have someone killed!
I respect other's culture only if it's worthy of respect. I see little to respect in what happened in Sudan.
Write to your MP, complain as it is us the tax payer who is stumping up the cash for Sudan's 'aid'.
Reply:Because this is the way that you see a thing. Other people may not see it in the same way - we should be more tollerant of other peoples views.
We also have laws and views that other people would find strange; should they boycott and impose sanctions on us?

So what were your parents thinking about when they named you? after a nasty evil jumped up dictator.
Reply:Franco
ask yourself a couple of questions
1)are you going to holiday, live or work in Sudan?
2)are you going to name your teddy bear Mohammad?
if the answer to either or both of those questions is no, why worry
if anyone else is prepared to go and do the two above things, the the damn fool isn't worth worrying about
Reply:Chill out Franco - it's Friday for goodness sakes!
Reply:Do you think the owners of Mecca bingo love islam?
Reply:dude they're arabic... and sorry but with matters of religion they seem to have a beheading policy on anything that isnt in accordance. and they seem to sort of hate westerners. so.. yeah.. not gonna change.
Reply:Old news.
Reply:muslims see things differently.
Reply:Don't try and get into the heads of extremists. You'll never work them out. You'd think with the poverty, famine etc they'd have more things to worry about than the name a child gives a Teddy bear. If it were in this country can you see anyone going mental about naming a teddy bear Jesus. I think not.
