What if you were wrong in naming someone the father?

Long story short I had a child with high school sweetheart and we broke up during the time we were apart I went back to an old boyfriend a month later my sweet heart and I were back together and I was pregnant. I told both men that there was a chance they were both dads, my sweetheart and I got married and the x heard, he was not about to rain on our parade and my sweetheart was able and willing to raise the baby...We did together and nothing ever became of things until now. My son is 11 and I want to know for sure.

What if you were wrong in naming someone the father?
Why? I think the person who was there for your child, the one who loved him, and took care of him should be the one considered his father.

Reply:If it's a matter of you wanting to know and nobody else cares...then I would call this one of those instances where you are about to throw a rock from inside your glass house. Ultimately all you will find out that is different from what is....is bad news.





You son knows your husband as his father, and there is a relationship there. Your ex doesn't care, for whatever reason. By finding out the he is the father is and can only cause dissention by your current husband or problems from your ex.





First, you will need everyone to submit DNA for the paternity test. That means contacting your exboyfriend, who isn't obligated to give you DNA (and he won't if he thinks you're going after support). Your husband will also have to give DNA, which might cause him to question your motives...as he's been a good husband/father.





This is something best left alone, at least for now. Nothing good will come from it. Even if your husband is the father...he will always wonder why you wanted to know for sure.

Reply:I feel sorry for your kid. You screwed up, if the man who raised the baby is still around and loves the kid then leave it alone. Let the guilt sit in the pit of your stomach for the rest of your life not your sons or his dad. Not trying to be rude, I just don't understand people like you. Who cares if you want to know. Reply:This is a sad situation mainly for the child...are you prepared to hear what the results will be..You'll have to go to the court house and petition a paternity test.
