What are the different rules of naming and writing chemical formulas?
Here are the basics:

- metal ion is written first (NaCL)

- subscript indicates the number of atoms of the element in the molecule

- try to write organic compounds to show the lowest number bond location

(1,3-dimethylbenzene instead of 2,4-dimethylbenzene)

- write in alphabetical order if possible (1-ethyl 2-methyl benzene)
