Is naming your kid Tray almost a surefire way of him being born with down syndrome?

I swear, I can't count the number of children with down syndrome that are named Tray, is that name cursed?

Thats crazy...
Reply:I know a Trey with DS. No the name is not cursed.

I know people who have DS family members and having a DS child born into their family resulted in amazingly good things happening, so not all things that seem "bad" are really bad.

:D
Reply:There is no name that gives someone a disease or disorder. That is just ridiculous. It would be a sure fire way of having him bullied and teased though with a name like that.
Reply:No, an extra copy of chromosome 21 causes Down Syndrome. What someone is named after they're born has nothing to do with a genetic disease.
Reply:No...?

What kind of question of this? A name is not a "surefire way" to make him have a birth deficiency.
Reply:no

A name does not cause a disease or a birth defect.
Reply:no, its just a name.
