Who legally gets final say when naming a baby?

Just curious. If a married couple has a child and will not agree on a name. Who legally gets the final say when it comes to naming the baby? The mother or the father?

Who legally gets final say when naming a baby?
In many states, the father is not even required to sign the birth certificate giving the mother the ultimate authority to name the baby.
Reply:the women of course. why should a man have any say on this. we are the ones that just pushed that huge thing out of us. if a guy is normal he wouldn't even care. that is like a guy caring what color curtains are in the living room. that wouldn't be very manly.
Reply:If you cant agree on a baby name you shouldnt have a baby haha im just saying... i would think that it would be the mother.. since the baby came out of her (and genernally the birth cert. id filled out my mom)... but i could be lying...
Reply:The Mother. Unfortunately the Father only gets to be there at conception. The courts don't respect Father rights.
Reply:neither one has the "right"

if one doesn't like the name on the birth certificate, he or she can go to court to seek to have it changed.
Reply:Mother. Period
Reply:Whichever one of them registers the birth.
Reply:whoever fills out the birth certificate form
