What kind of agent? Secret? Talent? I'll just take this as a general matter. The problem in allowing anybody to have general power of attorney is that they may overstep whatever bounds of reasonable behavior that you would expect them to adhere to. They might take things or avail themselves of things that you wouldn't expect a decent person to do, yet the agent's actions may still be within legal limits. It's a matter of acting within the spirit vs the letter of the law. It's very difficult to provide you with specifics unless I know what the agent is and does, and for whom the agent is acting.
Reply:A general power of attorney allows one to buy and sell and create obligations for you. They can drain your bank account and that is within their authority. If you got hurt, they could sign the DNR order and the hospital folks would honor it. There are no limits on that person's authority. They can do anything in your name that you could do yourself and if they borrow money in your name, you are obliged to re-pay it.
