Okay, I'm making a poster for Science about naming compounds and I know when you name an inoic compound, the metal comes first. But in a covalent compound, all the elements are nonmetals, so how do you know which one comes first?
What element comes first when naming a covalent compound?
Usually, the more electropositive element is named first. So you have sulfur dioxide, but oxygen difluoride.
