Do you follow a pattern or routine when naming your children?

My name is Jeri, my husbands name is John, so I decided I wanted my kids to be all J's as well. My son is 6 and his name is Jayden, my daughter is 2months old and her name is Julissa, we are gonna have one more if its a boy his name will be Johnny, if shes a girl her name "might" be Jenae or Jaclyn. Tell us your stories!

Do you follow a pattern or routine when naming your children?
Hey my son is Jayden you are very smart

no we picked names we liked and looked up the meaning

Jayden is hebrew means God has heard or Thankful shooter.

Reply:My parents named their 4 kids starting with T's. My dad's name also starts with T, but my mom's doesn't. She's always been the oddball.

Both my husband and my daughter are both J's, so I've decided I don't want our next daughter to be a J because then that would leave me the oddball. LOL

I do however, plan on naming her something similar and goes very well with our first daughter's name.
Reply:Well, we didn't do it purposely, but we have a cat named Zao (Zay-Oh). We named our daughter Zoe, so we have Zoe and Zao. One evening I was changing our voicemail answering service to add our unborn son and to say that the household of "Mike, Brandi, Zao, Zoe and Isaiah is not available".

That's when I realized..come December, unintentionally, we'll have Zoe, Zao and Isaiah.
Reply:I unintentionally named my son with a first and middle name that has similar meanings.

Aiden - A Fire Inside

Dane - A Little Fire (although this one had several additional meanings)

My mom's middle name starts with a D, and she gave my three brothers and me a middle name that starts with D. So I continued that with my son.

Reply:My husband and his siblings all have the initials GRC, so when I had my 2 girls, their initials were the same, CMC..

My oldest daughter decided that she did not want same initials with her kids, but gave them all one of her relatives first name as a middle name. It works for her.
Reply:All of my Kids have the Letter Y somewhere in their name....

Harley Scott

Jayden Mitchell

Breanna Jayde

%26amp;

Sean Patryck....

and bubby on the way will be

That's where i'm different to you, i don't want my kids to have the same letters at the start of their names..
Reply:My name is Melissa %26amp; my husband is John. Our oldest starts with a J for my husband. Her name is Jazmyn and we did the MY in there for my nickname {Myssi}. My youngest is named Tessa and for that it was because I wanted her to have SSA like the end of my first name MeliSSA.
Reply:We give our children Celtic and Punjabi names. I am Scots-Irish and my husband is Indian.

I babysat for a family that was Pat %26amp; Patty and their children Samatha, Sean and Stephen. I always thought that was cute.

Congratulations on your little girl! All the best-
Reply:My mother's name is Shawna and my father's Samuel. My sister's S----

and nime is S------. Our dog's name is Sticky. We we've been the "S-club" for as long as I can remember. Im going to name my kids with a S-name too.
Reply:Me and my fiance have been following a pattern but i am trying to break it with the baby arriving. My fiance's name is casey and my name is Tatiana.

Reply:Our first two kids have their same sex parent's first name as their middle name. After that, however, we just decided to stay ethnically in type, so the names are pretty universally Irish in origin.
Reply:Our pattern for naming our kids has been this:

Fight about it for 6 months, and then not actually find a name we both agree with until we are leaving the hospital. We have such different ideas, but we work it out!
Reply:No, their names have no connections.1 son 1 daughter. 34 and 30 years.
Reply:No I don't think I will do that if I have more kids.

But my friend's family has three girls:

Lily, Iris and Rose

All flowers...
Reply:They both have classic Irish names (w/ the proper spelling).
