A friend was having a hard time coming up with a name for his website. I came up with a name for him and he is now using the name to run a business. He asked me what he owed me for coming up the website name. I have no idea what a fair price would be.

How much time did you spend on coming up with the name? If you spent 100 hours working on it, charge him 100 times a "reasonable" hourly rate.
An alternative is to charge absolutely nothing... say that you did it in the name of friendship (pause for effect) but donations in the form of stock ownership are greatly appreciated!
