Would naming the person who reported the question stop the sillyness?

Would people think twice before hitting report if they knew there name would be given to the Asker.

Would naming the person who reported the question stop the sillyness?
YES!!!!!

There are quite a number of juvenile and fanatical people who refuse to accept anyone else's views.

These are the very people YA should deal with - if the do not it can only get much worse!!!

Already many people keep Q%26amp;As private, give no information on themselves and do not allow Email or IM!!!!

YA have lost the plot in allowing such censorship and simply ignore the rule on vilating for reasons outside the guidelines!!!
Reply:The identity, believe and alliance of the people who report against others should be published on a daily basis, so that we can judge the nature, actual motive, viciousness and reason or grounds of these deli berate acts.

Remember, so many Americas are fighting and dying for their wars right around the world. These neo-cons and their real agenda must be exposed to save the world.
Reply:Bad idea. You report them, and as they know who you are they will report you! All that will happen is number of reports will go up 10x.

What I think should happen is, when someone is reported, Yahoo should review the comments and then decide if they breach guidelines.
Reply:I have no wish to be a closet reporter and I would be more than willing to give my name.

If you believe in something strongly enough why would you be ashamed to admit it.
Reply:I think that is a good question. People only report because of the anonimity. Personally, I never bother reporting because If the question annoys me i just don't answer it.
Reply:It won't happen - they've refused this already - something to do with the freedom of information act - actually people only ever use that as an excuse when they don't want to give you the info you require!
Reply:Maybe those that report unfairly should be suspended for a short while. I've only ever reported those who advertise on the site ie, the loan sharks.
Reply:Probably would work.

I lost 10 points for a questioned that I never answered, I complained to Yahoo and my 10 points were returned.
Reply:It would cause chaos, can you imagine the tit for tat going around. "You reported me so i will report you." Would there ever be any questions left to answer.
Reply:Great idea - it would be usually be nameS, rather than just one name. Don't think it will happen though, because that would lead to all sorts of vendetta's and revenge reporting.
Reply:Excellent idea ! Im sure one or two people have taken a disliking to me - some days all my questions have thumb downs and I get reported for no good reason.

Yeah, they should do that
Reply:yep, I totally agree. Its been suggested many times to Yahoo, but its their site and they make the rules, theres nowt we can do :(
Reply:well of course it would,as long as they couldn't hide behind anonymity, theres no need for some of it,
Reply:Great idea!!

It could show in the same way as the stars show when

someone finds a question interesting.
Reply:GREAT IDEA!! my unoffensive questions (nearly) always get deleted. even the one about how much african grey parrots cost.
Reply:A good Idea.
Reply:are people really that nasty to report someone?? for no reason?
Reply:Thats a great idea!...
Reply:Agree with you 100% there!
Reply:what a good idea
Reply:go on name and shame them
