Psychologists: What programs can i use to create a picture naming task experiment?

I was intending to use superlab Pro however the cost is very expensive and i was wondering if there were alternative softwares i could use to create my experiment (this is for my dissertation)

They usually have a discounted student cost for superlab (though they still aren't necessarily cheap...), does your university not have any licensed programs at all?

The most commonly used experimental programs in my experience are:

Superlab (probably the most limited with what you can do)

EPrime (kind of the middle ground)

Matlab (The most flexible, but requires more computer skills and practise to learn)

Of course, if you don't need your participants to input their responses on the computer (e.g. they can write it on paper or say it aloud and you write it down), you can use Powerpoint to control the time and duration of a slideshow.
Reply:use communication pictures for impaired hearing
