Why did a school teacher get in trouble for naming a teddy bear muhammed?

This is not a soap box speech like so many of the other posts about this. I am sincerely asking in hopes to understand because I simply don't. Thank you for any help understanding this issue.

Why did a school teacher get in trouble for naming a teddy bear muhammed?
The name Muhammed is of Arabic origin which means "praiseworthy". There are 18 variants of the name today. It was used for centuries before the name was given to the prophet as a baby and millions of boys are given the name in modern times.

Because the Prophet is not to be depicted in terms of art or any other form (including teddy bears) especially as an animal it would be considered a gross insult to Islam.

However the teacher did not allow the teddy to be called Prophet Muhammed but simply Muhammed.

The decision to prosecute was as a result of some considerable pressure from the mosques with the Immams stirring up racial hatred and also political pressure as there was som tit for tat political manoeverings together with a lot of anti-British feeling. This is widely thought of as political retaliation under the guise of religious sensitivity.

The teacher explained that there was no insult to the Prophet of the same name but the judge simply chose to disregard her explanation.

Focusing the anger of the population of the country is a way of polarising the religious zeal amongst the people.

They were made to feel (by some Immams and political leaders) that Islam was under attack by yet another westerner and this served to increase racial hatred towards all westerners.
Reply:It was actually the students that named the teddy.
Reply:you can call by any name BUT

when it hurts particular people it is better to avoid it.
Reply:Because Muslims are a bunch of lame derriere psychopathic religious fanatics. That's why.

The teacher didn't name the teddy bear Muhammed. The students did

If Muhammed is such a sacred name, why do so many men have this name? Since when are regular men sacred? You would think there are more important things in the world to worry about.

Kindly ask the child to change the name of the bear cause the name they chose is not appropriate. That's all they had to do. But somehow that makes too much sense and was too difficult for them
Reply:because she is in an islamic country and naming the teddy bear muhammed is considered an insult to their religion and god, especially considering she's not of the muslim faith.

at least that's how i understand the situation.
Reply:Because muslims are nuts.
Reply:The teacher did not name the teddy bear the kids did. She had no idea that mohammed was his name. When a child told his parent, everyone became unglued.

Those arabs did not have anything better to do than to fault the teacher. Fault those little demons themselves.
Reply:Because in that part of the world they are all zealots bordering on insanity. It isn't the teddy bear, it is their own skewed view of the world that causes them to behave so irrationally. No one outside that country should travel or work there; this is a prime example why.
Reply:It was considered disrespectful to the Islam prophet Muhammed. It was more political than parents getting angry. They were under pressure by the Islam courts to arrest her.

I saw on the new this morning that their president pardoned her.

Reply:I guess because it is a sacred name and it is sacrilegious to do so. I guess it would be equivalent to naming your pet pig Jesus Christ!
