What other names did you parents think about naming you? Do you wish you had that name instead?

I got boring "Julia" as my name...but my mom is a writer and had all these cool names picked out like Cheyanne, Echo, Chloe, Meadow and Avery. What about you guys?

My name is Paige. My dad wanted Meredith and that is my middle name. I prefer Paige. My mom also really liked Bianca and Teal. I am extremely thankful my dad put his foot down on those...!

Reply:Well my first name is Rose (which is so boring) so I go by my middle name LeAnna.My sister is the same way to, her first name is Lilly but we call her Melissa. My parents picked out the names Mariah,Georgia,Caitlin and Brittany.I really don't like any of those names. For my sister they still wanted a flower theme.
Reply:My name is Kilie (Kylie), I do like my name, however I do wish they had spelled it with as y as my name is freguently mispronounced as KILL-E.





Other names my mom had for me were Keira and Julie, I think I like Kilie best. If I was a boy my parents would have named me either Ian, Eric or Colin

Reply:My mom was a Sociologist/Enterpeunur and my father was a gynicologist. He had six children already she two they did not want more.Long story short the (IUD) did not work, My mom named me Ogheneruona meaning God's unique design. I have to be truthful I could not imagine myself addressed in any other way than Ona. My middle name is Joseph and it is weird when people call me that.So that answers your question love my name.
Reply:My name is Kayla.My mom was felt that she was going to have a girl and one day she was watching the news about a girl that went missing and her name was Kayla. Odd. My mom was also thinking of naming me Brianna. Anyway I wanted to change my name, mostly change the spelling to Cayla because it is different. But I think I am just going to stick with Kayla. Its nice.
Reply:I like the name my parents picked out for me. Teresa. It's different and pretty in my opinion. My mom loved the name Laura and wanted to use it until she married my father. Her new last name would not have gone well at all with Laura. They then decided that they liked Lisa but my dad's ex-wife had wanted to use that name before if they had had a girl so that kind of went out the window lol. So when I was born my dad decided to name me Teresa, after talking it over with my mom before of course. Now, if I had been a guy, my parents would've named me either Mark or Kevin and boy am I glad I came out a girl! =P
Reply:The only name my mom wanted was Alyssa, but my dad didn't like it. The ONLY name the could agree on that they could both "live with" was Laura. I used to hate it, but I'm kind of beginning to like it now. It's pretty and classy.





My mom thought maybe he would let her use Alyssa for their second daughter...but my aunt had a girl first...and my grandma told her how pretty Alyssa would be for a name, so they used it. And then the spelled it wrong, too. :( So my sister was named Christine instead.





I do wish I had been named Alyssa instead though. Even though it is becoming overly-popular very quickly now. I now know four Alyssas, but still only one other Laura. Growing up, I had always intended to name my OWN daughter Alyssa some day (making both my mom and myself happy) despite having a cousin by (nearly) the same name (she lives several states away and I don't even see her once a year) but now I don't think I could.

I am glad i wasnt Jenae because that is my best friends name and that would have been cool but weird lol, but i wish i coulda been Charlie but my dad loved the name Jessie and i like it too. i would have been happy with whatever
Reply:i was supposed to be David Brian.... my mother swore i was a boy, she even told the dr when they brought me over that there was a mistake, she had a boy! esh! talk about feeling the love, LOL

But at the last minute i was name Brianna Leigh after my grandmother.
Reply:I was maybe going to be a Kristen..thank god I'm not because I hate that name.. I'm a Michelle instead and I didn't like it that much when I was younger but now I don't mind it that much.
Reply:My name is Erin. My parents also considered Alyssa (my middle name), Nicole, and McKenzie. I would like Erin more if it flowed with my last name (it doesn't!) and it wasn't so common. I would have preferred McKenzie just because it's different.

Reply:I was going to be Tammy. I like Ivy better. My Aunt took Tammy for my cousin, so my parents found a new name. They were considering Dehlila also (the one that cut Samson's hair) but thought that might be a rough name. Not that Poison Ivy was all that easy!

Reply:My mom told me she thought about Leigha (which she felt was to close to my last name and i like mine better so im happy) and she liked Chantal because she could nickname me Shoo shoo (she saw it in a move lol). Chantal would have been ok, i might name one of mine that for her but i have grown so much into my name i can't see me with anything else.
Reply:I like the name Julia - I think it's pretty. Echo is cool in a hippy way but, really, can you imagine introducing yourself to your future in-laws as Echo? Or getting a Phd with Meadow? Not names I'd personally want.





My mom was considering Kayla. Thank goodness that didn't happen. Apparently two other women from her neighbourhood gave birth and both named they Kayla.





So that was scratched for which I am glad. The name doesn't suit me at all.





If I were a guy I would have been Chester. Which is a definate EW in my opinion.





I'm quite satisfied with my name, actually.
