I am going to a naming ceremony and have never been to one, what gift should I take and do I wrap it?

Its a non religious naming ceremony for a little boy. They are putting things into a time capsule for when he turns 21.

For a naming ceremony if you wish to take a gift for the baby take the same sort of gift you would take to a christening - and yes, wrap it.

If you have been asked to bring something for the time capsule find something (it doesn't have to be something expensive) that in 20 odd years will tell him what life was like in 2008.

Some things I've seen added to a time capsule have been:

the daily newspaper

junk mail (great for prices etc)

a coin minted that year

a magazine or TV program

a photograph of the child's home

a children's book that won a prize that year

A bus, train or airplane ticket

A postage stamp/first day cover

Reply:Do you have any pictures of his mother when she was pregnant? You could put one of them in an acid-free matted frame for the time capsule.
